Disappointed in KitchenAid – for this kettle and their misleading product description. I was actually very excited about finding a tea kettle with a manual temperature gauge. I was very disappointed to spend this much money on a tea kettle only to find out that the inside of the kettle is ENTIRELY lined in plastic. Burned out almost immediately I should have known better. Some years ago I ordered a Kitchen Aid toaster for my condo in Florida and within a very short time one of the plastic knobs broke off. I think Kitchen Aid makes good major appliances–I have one of their dishwashers and I am very happy with it–but in the area of small electrical their stuff is cleverly designed but junk.
