Disappointed in KitchenAid – for this kettle and their misleading product description. I was actually very excited about finding a tea kettle with a manual temperature gauge. I was very disappointed to spend this much money on a tea kettle only to find out that the inside of the kettle is ENTIRELY lined in plastic. I didn’t even notice until I had brewed a cup of tea – I could taste the plastic. I immediately packed it up for a return and continued searching for a better alternative. Great customer service prompted this review. My kettle gets a lot of use, so it was super annoying when it stopped working after a scant 5 months. So, why the 4-star review? Simple. Burned out almost immediately I should have known better. Some years ago I ordered a Kitchen Aid toaster for my condo in Florida and within a very short time one of the plastic knobs broke off. I think Kitchen Aid makes good major appliances–I have one of their dishwashers and I am very happy with it–but in the area of small electrical their stuff is cleverly designed but junk.
